NEET UG 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is liable for the exam patterns of the NEET UG exam. Now the NTA has released crucial updates about the pattern of the question paper and duration of the examination for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). According to the official notification released by NTA, the exam will revert to its pre-COVID format in which there have been no optional questions or additional time provided to the candidate. From this year, candidates will no longer have non-mandatory questions or extra time introduced during COVID-19, as the exam returns to its pre-COVID format.
The format of the question paper for the NEET UG 2025 is as follows:
Subject | Number of questions | Duration |
Physics | 45 | 45 minutes |
Chemistry | 45 | 45 minutes |
Botany | 45 | 45 minutes |
Zoology | 45 | 45 minutes |
Total | 180 | 180 minutes |

2. Changes in Time Duration
In the latest NEET UG exam pattern, 2025, the total period of the NEET UG 2025 exam has also changed. The NEET UG exam is going to be held for 3 hours instead of 3 hours and 20 minutes. This reduction in NEET UG 2025 exam duration has occurred mainly because of the removal of the optional questions and the reduction of the total questions

The most important change that has taken place in the NEET UG 2025 exam pattern is the Deletion of section B from every subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) Earlier there used to be two sections—Section A and Section B. 35 questions were used to be asked from section A, while 15 questions were used to be asked from section B, with candidates having an option to answer any 10 questions.
