MCA to Disclose 38 e-Filing Forms at V3 Portal, Available From 14th July 2025
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) will soon stop the Version 2.0 (V2) of the portal in the upcoming days. This version is used by the LLPs (Limited Liability Partnerships) and firms for the purpose of statutory compliance filings, incorporation, and shutting down of companies.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has notified that it is all set to release the final set of 38 e-filing forms, which consists of 13 annual filing forms and 6 audit/cost audit forms. The forms are scheduled to be released on July 14, 2025. The company filing process is being shifted from Version 2 (V2) to a new system, Version 3.0 (V3), on the MCA portal. Once V3 is launched, the old V2 system will no longer be used.
In order to facilitate the implementation of these kinds of forms in Version 3.0 (V3), MCA has released guidelines for the stakeholders. To continue with the new version, MCA stated that the process of e-filing on Version 2.0 (V2) will be disabled from June 18, 2025. In accordance with the official notification of MCA, stakeholders must ensure Service Request Numbers (SRNs) are not in pending payment or resubmission status.
Additionally, stakeholders are advised to check the Service Request Numbers (SRNs) currently in the pending stage, especially those related to investor and subsidiary information, and upload information services on the portal of the MCA. The offline payments using the pay later options of Version 2.0 (V2) will be stopped from June 08, 2025. Hence, MCA has asked firms to only use the online mode for e-file payments on designated forms in Version 2.0 (V2).
The ministry has officially stated, “Accordingly, stakeholders are advised to plan and file current V3 forms before July 9, as there will be no waiver of fees or extension of resubmission period.” Raising concern about the upcoming launch of the new version, V3, will not be disabled from July 9 to 13.
Frequent transformations have been seen in the services of MCA21 through the ministry from older V2 to V3, which was started in FY22.
The new version 3.0 is better than its old version. It consists of more features such as online decision-making (e-Adjudication), taking public feedback (Consultation), checking documents (Scrutiny), and tracking compliance.
Features like e-adjudication and e-consultation in Version 3 aim to improve user experience by making rules and processes easier to follow, creating a more business-friendly environment.
In Version 2.0, forms were required to be first downloaded and filled out and then required to be uploaded on the MCA portal. In developed Version 3.0, the form can be submitted directly online. The LLP-related solutions are, as it is, shifted to Version 3.0 from the earlier version.
The MCA has advised the stakeholders to form a new user ID or upgrade their existing Version 2 ID or merge their V2 ID into the V3 system under the ‘Business User’ category to enjoy Version 3.0 portal services.
The MCA21 portal was introduced in the year 2006, whose aim is to make it easier to follow rules and complete requirements under the Companies Act, 2013, and the LLP Act, 2008, by automating the process.
