Surat CA Dies of Heart Attack: Compliance Work Pressure, unreasonable deadlines to be blamed?
A Chartered Accountant from Surat shockingly passed away due to a heart attack while he was working on Sunday. He was trying to meet the compliance deadlines, a reality which many CAs are facing today due to the government not extending the due dates. This news has disappointed several professionals.
Even after the tax bodies and CAs have sent repeated requests, the government has not extended the due dates for the tax audit report and Income Tax Return (ITR) filing. During such situations, the CAs are under pressure and they have to work long hours, late nights, without taking breaks. This pressure is affecting their mental and physical health.
Chartered accountants are considered the key contributors to the economy’s financial growth. But the recent sad death of the CA due to work stress shows that their health and well-being also need to be taken seriously.
