CBIC Merges 31 Customs Notifications into a Single Notification

On October 24, 2025, the Government of India introduced a key update to the customs duty notification that aims to ease the process for businesses. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has merged 31 Customs Duty Notifications into a single, consolidated notification, Notification No. 45/2025. This move is set to take effect from November 1, 2025.

This will ensure that the old and complicated rules of customs duty on imports are removed, and a new and simple system is introduced. These 31 notifications are merged together in a single notification to bring more clarity and simplify rules. This single notification also provides a customs duty exemption for various sectors.
