Income Tax Department Fixing Errors in Advance Tax e-Campaign Emails

The Income Tax Department has recently issued clarification regarding the ‘significant transactions’ communication. As a part of its ongoing Advance Tax e-Campaign for AY 2026-27 (FY 2025-26), the taxpayers are being sent emails to remind them of the upcoming due date of the advance tax payment.

However, several taxpayers reported that the email received by them contains incorrect information about the significant transaction carried out by them.

The Income Tax Department appreciated the taxpayers for reporting this issue with them. The department said that it is working to fix the issue. The taxpayers are advised to ignore the previous email.

The department also assured that messages are just reminders to help taxpayers check their financial details on the compliance portal and, if necessary, ensure they are paying the correct advance tax.

The department urged the taxpayers to check their transaction information using the e-Campaign tab on the Compliance Portal, which can be accessed through the e-Filing portal.
