Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced the ‘Agneepath Recruitment Scheme.’ Rajnath Singh remarked that under the Agneepath Scheme, young people will be recruited to serve in the army for four years. When they quit their work, they will also receive the service fund package. Agniveer will be the name given to the young people who join the army under this scheme.

Model Agnivers in Agneepath will be given an Attraction Salary while on the job. After four years of army service, the youth will be given more opportunities in the future and will obtain an army credential.

Some foundation The following points are mentioned:

  1. Applicants must be between the ages of 17.5 and 21 years old. Candidates shall be enlisted for four years, including training, under the relevant Service Act. They will receive intensive military training at existing training facilities.
  2. According to top sources, over 45,000 candidates will be accepted into the three services in the first round.
  3. The total yearly compensation for the first year would be around Rs 4.76 lakh, with an increase to approximately Rs 6.92 lakh in the fourth year. Allowances for risk and hardship, rationing, clothing, and travel are all applicable. It is equivalent to thirty to forty thousand rupees every month, depending on the year of joining.
  4. The system includes a Seva Nidhi package, which comprises a soldier contributing 30% of his emoluments each month, with the government matching that amount. The soldiers will receive roughly Rs 11.71 lakh when they retire after four years, which is tax-free.
  5. According to sources, soldiers would be given two alternatives for claiming the Seva Nidhi package. One possibility would be to credit Rs 1 lakh into the soldier’s account when he is discharged after four years and convert the remainder into bank guarantees for loan financing. The second option is to charge the entire money to the soldier’s account at once.
  6. In the sad case of death, the financial package for troops under the Agnipath model includes a non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh, as well as payment for the unsaved amount for up to four years, including the Seva Nidhi component.
  7. In the event of disability, soldiers will be compensated based on the percentage of disability determined by medical officials. Soldiers would receive a one-time ex-gratia payment of Rs 44 lakh/Rs 25 lakh/Rs 15 lakh if they are 100% disabled, 75% disabled, or 50% disabled.
  8. Soldier applicants will get Seva Nidhi benefits, as well as certifications and credits for higher education, at the end of their four-year term. Agnivers might apply to join the regular cadre on a volunteer basis.
