Bollywood actor and superstar Amitabh Bachchan earned Rs.350 crore during the financial year 2024-25, of which he paid Rs.120 crore in income tax, according to reports. Big B is now become the highest tax-paying celebrity in India.
According to a source, the 82-year-old actor paid his final instalment, an advance tax of Rs. 52.50 crore, on March 15. A source told the newspaper that Bachchan's hosting duties on Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) 16 are one of his sources of income, in addition to endorsement deals and film projects.
"At the age of 82, Amitabh Bachchan is still in high demand, having appeared in some of the largest feature films in Indian cinema and being the top choice for the majority of brands. He is also the most popular television host, besides Kaun Banega Crorepati. The individual's revenue from various sources totals Rs.350 crore, making him among the highest earners in the film industry," the source reported.
"He is still a role model for all Indians today, and he always pays his taxes on time. Amitabh Bachchan is determined to sign on for exciting projects in 2025 and leave an impression on all of his fans," the report claimed.
Bachchan's tax liability for this the financial year is Rs 120 crore, which is 69% greater than the previous financial year (Rs.71 crore). Aside from Amitabh, the highest-tax-paying Indian celebs include Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Tamil superstar Vijay. Last year, Shah Rukh topped the list, earning Rs.92 crores. This year, Amitabh Bachchan's contribution surpassed SRK's by 30%, pushing him from fourth to first place on the list of Indian celebrities who pay the most in taxes.
