Overview:

BlackBerry is hiring an experienced Principal Software Engineer at their Bangalore, India location. This position will be responsible for designing and developing out-of-the-box next-gen products with high quality and usability. The individual at this position comes with mindset of continuous learning and mentoring the other team members within the high-performance engineering team.

What you will do:

• Work with the development team to analyze product features, customer requirements or identified problems and create/update test plans and test cases
• Partner with developers and architects to identify product testing challenges and lead to the best solution.
• Design and build scalable automated test frameworks and test suites that work across technologies.
• Develop and optimize automated test cases with continuous improvements in coverage and efficiency
• Keep yourself aware with latest trends in cloud deployment testing technologies
• Learn and contribute towards selecting the required tools and in building the CI/CD pipeline
• Bring on a growth mindset in day-to-day engineering activities and learn recent technologies and tools that bring about individual and team efficiencies
• Take accountability for the quality, total cost of ownership, maintainability and security of the component developed
• Identify and run a series of tests against new software builds on reference and/or customer hardware
• Analyze test results, debug observed issues, generate defect reports, verify fixed issues, and update pre-existing defect reports.
  Create test reports based on test results for internal and external audiences with high attention to detail.

Who we are looking for:

• 10 to 14 years of industry experience in product-based companies in automated software testing roles for functionality delivered from cloud
• 6+ years of experience in designing test framework, test plans for new functionality in an independent manner
• 4+ years of experience with Java, python and shell scripting
• 2+ years of experience in leading small teams for testing cloud based products
• Experience in web application test automation using Selenium or equivalent tools.
• Should be proficient in AWS services like EC2, S3 bucket, RDS, EBS, ELB, Auto-Scaling, AMI, IAM, AWS Lambda, serverless services etc.
• Experience in CloudFormation, Terraforms templates for infrastructure automation
• Well versed with software engineering best practices in development and testing, quality metrics, source control management, build process, CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Basic understanding of security compliance for cloud deployments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Software Engineering from a reputed university
