Bombay Dyeing Faces Rs 6.14 Crore GST Demand Over Infrastructure Charges on Flat Sales
Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Limited has received an order from the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Appeal (MUM-APP-E-0401), Mazgaon, Nodal Division 04 Mumbai, Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department under Section 107 of the MGST Act 2017. The order pertains to the Financial Year 2018-19.
The company had received the order on June 18, 2026, via a system-generated email. Through the said order, the GST authorities have raised an aggregate demand amounting to Rs 6.14 crore, including tax of Rs 1.91 crore, interest of Rs 2.30 crore, and penalty of Rs 1.91 crore.
The company has clarified that the present action does not impact its financial, operational and business activities. Additionally, it is not satisfied with the present order and will challenge the same before the GST Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) within the statutory time limit.
As per the company, the GST demand in question has been levied in respect of the infrastructure charges received by it relating to the sale of flats. The present disclosure is a continuation of an earlier disclosure dated December 27, 2025.
Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Limited has made the aforementioned disclosure to the stock exchange (National Stock Exchange Limited and Bombay Stock Exchange Limited) via an Intimation dated June 19, 2026, issued under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as amended (“SEBI Listing Regulations”).
