Breaking: Central Government notifies Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)

The Citizenship Amendment Act’s (CAA) regulations have been made public by the ministry of home affairs today. Refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan who are Hindu, Sikh, Jain Buddhist, Christian, or Parsi are better able to get Indian citizenship because to this statute.

This occurs several weeks after Amit Shah, the union’s home minister, promised that the law would be put into effect prior to the Lok Sabha elections.

For non-Muslim immigrants from these nations who arrived in India before to December 31, 2014, the law seeks to provide citizenship. Protests had erupted around the nation following the law’s enactment in 2019.

Amit Shah declared last month that the CAA bill cannot be stopped.

“This will be implemented before the elections…this is the law of the country, no one can stop it, this is set in stone, this is the reality,” he had stated during a speech.

Additionally, Amit Shah had declared that the CAA was a national initiative. He gave minorities the assurance that no one’s citizenship would be taken away by the legislation.

“The CAA is a national statute…It will receive notice before to the polls. There ought to be no room for doubt about that. Our nation’s minorities, particularly the Muslim minority, are being incited…There is nothing in the Act that allows the CAA to take away someone’s citizenship.
