CA Exams May 2024: Students worried amid high speculations, High Time for ICAI to clarify It is high time that the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) should clarify the schedule and status of the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Exams to be held in May 2024. As per one of the ICAI announcements, the Examination Committee may reschedule the May 2024 CA Examination, if the dates of the General Lok Sabha Election coincide with the present Examination Schedule. [Refer to the ICAI Announcement on the postponement of Exams] However, there is high speculation on Twitter and distress among the students on postponing the CA Examination in May 2024. One of the person Mr. Abhishek Ware wrote on Twitter that one should wait for the Official Announcement of the ICAI. He earlier wrote As per past history Loksabha election held between 2nd week april to 3rd week of May. According to notification of election commission, they have to submit start and end date before 16th April 2024. It means tha election will start at end of April and it will goes upto May end. Many persons and Accounts have been seen tweeting that CA Exams will be postponed. However no official or credible source was given by them. Another CA Parag Gupta wrote "CA Exams are like to be postponed by 3 weeks for May attempt (CA Inter & CA Final)" Students should concentrate on their studies instead of worrying about exams being postponed wrote another CA. He wrote "I will request all students to focus on their exams. Let's not get caught up in whether the exams will be postponed or not, but prioritize your studies. If the exams get postponed, you'll get more time, right? So It's in the best interest of everyone. (From a CA student who faced these postponement rumors during covid)" Another Student wrote "At this time Every CA Students are very interested in the Lok Sabha Elections. Not to win any particular party but to postpone Exam" There is already confusion among Students on ICAI's decision to conduct CA Exams 3 times a year. Another confusion will add to the misery of CA Students. We therefore request ICAI to take a step forward issue clarificatory note on same.
