CBDT notifies new changes in Form ITR-U [Read Notification]
The Ministry of Finance, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued a corrigendum related to an earlier income tax notification dated March 30, 2026. The amendment corrects a formatting Issue in part A (General Information) of Form ITR-U (Updated Income Tax Return).
The correction has been made at page number 5, in Part A General Information, in row (A10). Here, the phrase "Wrong heads of income chosen" will now be placed on a separate line after "Loss not reported correctly (In case of reduction of loss)".
The correction aims at removing ambiguity and improving accuracy in reporting errors to ensure smoother compliance.
