CBI arrest Joint Director General of Foreign Trade for accepting Bribe The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested a Joint DGFT, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Rajkot(Gujarat) for demanding & accepting bribe of Rupees Five Lakh from the Complainant. A case was filed against a Joint DGFT, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Rajkot (Gujarat), on allegations of exacting undue profit from the Complainant in the amount of Rs. 9 lakh. It was also claimed that the Complainant had filed 6 files containing all essential paperwork of periodic export of food cans to DGFT, Rajkot in order for them to get NOC and release their bank guarantee of about Rs. 50 lakh. It was also claimed that the accused requested Rs. 5 lakhs as the first instalment and instructed the complainant to deliver the balance amount when the NOC was handed over. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while accepting undue advantage of Rs. 5 Lakh from the Complainant. Searches are being conducted at the office & residential premises of the accused including at Rajkot and his native place. The arrested accused will be produced before the Competent Court.
