CBI Arrest RPF Inspector for accepting Bribe of Rs.1 Lakh

The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested an Inspector of Railway Protection Force (RPF) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rupees One lakh from Complainant.

A case was filed against an Inspector working at the RPF Police Station in Akola (Maharashtra) and others after a complaint was made alleging that the Inspector demanded a bribe of Rs. 3 lakh in exchange for dropping the complaints against the complainant’s father at the RPF Police Station in Akola and for granting bail there as well. The culprit was apprehended by the CBI after they set up a trap and demanded and accepted the complainant’s first payment of Rs. 1 lakh in bribe. Searches at the accused’s office and home resulted in the recovery of property-related documents, among other things.

The arrested accused was produced before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Amravati and was remanded to Police Custody upto 14.03.2023.
