CBI Arrested Garrison Engineer for Accepting Bribe of Rs 50000 The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Garrison Engineer, EE (SG), Morar Cantonment, Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh)  for reportedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant. The accused was charged with seeking payment of Rs.4.20 lakh (5 percent of the awarded work of Rs.84 lakh) in connection with specific building repairs and provision for a covered shed, among other things. The offender was also accused of threatening the complainant with dire consequences if the desired bribe was not paid. The CBI set a trap for the accused, who was caught collecting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 Searches were performed at the accused's homes and offices in Gwalior and Santkabir Nagar (Uttar Pradesh), yielding damning documents, as well as cash of Rs.9.6 lakh (approx.) and paperwork linked to land plots in Lucknow and Noida. The accused will appear in front of the Special Judge for CBI Cases in Bhopal.
