CBI Arrested TMC Leader Raju Sahani In Chit Fund Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was detained Raju Sahani, a leader for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in connection with a chit fund scam. Sahani's home was raided, and the CBI seized Rs 80 lakh in cash. According to reports, the CBI tracked accounts in foreign banks and found records for properties worth Rs 2.75 crore.
Cash worth Rs 80 lakh was reportedly found at Sahani's home, according to CBI sources. Accounts in international banks have been located, and documentation pertaining to property worth Rs 2.75 crore have been discovered.
According to officials, a probe into the situation has been started. According to reports, Raju Sahani was detained in connection with an investigation into a Ponzi scam. From his house, a shotgun with live ammunition was also found. Sahani and others are accused by the CBI of stealing money from a company called Sanmarg Welfare Organization, according to the CBI.
Notably, Sahani was detained on the same day that Abhishek Banerjee, a Trinamool MP, West Bengal Chief Minister, and TMC leader, was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate for seven hours on an alleged coal theft scam. The national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress and a representative from Diamond Harbour in the Lok Sabha is Abhishek Banerjee.
A bank account in Thailand has also been located, according to sources in the investigation agency. A country-made firearm, 12 live cartridges, and documents pertaining to property valued at Rs 2.75 crores were also uncovered.
