CBI arrested an accused Patwari from Tehsil Hira Nagar, Kathua (Jammu) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant.

CBI arrests a Patwari in Bribery Case in Jammu’s Kathua
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an accused Patwari from Tehsil Hira Nagar, Kathua (Jammu) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant.
The accused revenue official was assigned to Patwar Halqa, Chhan Khatrian, Hiranagar tehsil in Kathua district.
CBI official said, "A case was registered by CBI on 23.10.2024 against accused Patwari, Patwar Halqa, Chhan Khatrian, Tehsil Hira Nagar, Kathua, Jammu on allegations that accused demanded a bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant for attestation of mutation in respect of land purchased by the complainant."
The CBI set a trap and captured accused Patwari red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant. On October 24, 2024, the accused was produced before the competent Court, which remanded him to judicial custody for 12 days.
CBI also conducted searches at the residential premises of the accused. An investigation is continuing.
