CBI Arrests IT Official for Accepting Bribe of Rs 5 Lakh The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested an Income Tax Officer(ITO), Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh) for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.Five Lakh from the Complainant. A complaint was made against an ITO, Mandsaur, in this case (Madhya Pradesh). The complainant claimed that his business manufactured electric switches in Maharashtra; nevertheless, the firm's income tax assessment was being completed at the income tax office in Mandsaur (MP). The Income Tax Office (ITO) in Mandsaur was further accused of demanding a bribe of Rs. 5,00,000 and threatening to conduct an IT raid on the complainant's company if the bribe was not paid. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.5,00,000/- from the Complainant. Searches are being conducted at the premises of the accused. The detained suspect will appear before the Indore Special Judge for CBI Cases.
