CBI arrests its four officers on corruption charges On specific claims, the Central Bureau of Investigation detained four Sub-Inspectors stationed in Delhi and searched their homes. Documents found incriminating during searches are being examined. On the basis of a complaint, the CBI has filed a case against its New Delhi-based Sub-Inspector and unknown officials/private individuals. The complainant, who runs a partnership company in Chandigarh, said that on May 10, 2012, six people, including CBI investigators, came into his office and threatened him with arrest for supporting and sending money to terrorists since they had knowledge about it. The accused was also accused of dragging the complainant into a car and demanding Rs.25 lakh from him. CBI promptly opened a case, identified three more officers allegedly engaged in the affair, and arrested them as part of its zero tolerance policy against corruption and other offences, not just against those from outside but also against its own personnel. The delinquent officials' actions were taken seriously, and all four of them were removed from duty. The defendants are being brought before the Competent Court in Chandigarh today.
