CBI arrests Two Persons in an alleged Bribery Case The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) has arrested two private persons (middlemen) in an alleged bribery of Rs.3 lakh. On July 31, 2023, a complaint was filed against a Chandigarh Police constable and two private individuals for allegedly requesting a bribe. It was also claimed that the public servant wanted excessive advantage through intermediaries (private individuals) in exchange for not include the identity of the Complainant in a case probed by the Chandigarh Police Operation Cell. CBI set a trap and captured a private individual while taking a Rs. three lakh bribe on behalf of a governmental officer. The second private individual was apprehended as well. Searches were undertaken at the premises of the accused, who included a public worker and a private individual, resulting in the seizure of damning papers. Both the arrested accused produced before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Chandigarh.
