CBIC Enforces 3-Day Timeline to Prevent Delays in RoDTEP & RoSCTL Payments
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) under the Ministry of Finance has issued a clarification on April 23rd, 2026, which is related to RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) and RoSCTL (Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies) schemes.
It has been reported that there is a delay in the generation and payment of the scrolls (payment lists) prepared under RoDTEP and RoSCTL, through which benefits are given to exporters. Due to this delay, exporters are facing economic difficulties. Keeping this problem in mind, instructions have been given to all concerned officials that the payment process under both these schemes should be completed expeditiously, and there should not be any kind of delay. Already implemented Instruction No. As per 21/2020-Customs, duty drawback is paid within 3 days. Now, taking the same rule forward, it has been applied to RoDTEP and RoSCTL also.
This means that now, under these schemes, it will also be mandatory to do scroll generation and payment credit within a maximum of 3 days (72 hours). This rule is considered to be applicable with immediate effect, and all concerned officials have been instructed to strictly follow it so that there is no delay of any kind in the payment process.
