CBSE Updated Exam Format for Class 11th and 12th for Session 2024–25:

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced modifications to the test pattern for classes 11 and 12, effective from the academic year 2024–25. This is a big step towards boosting students’ analytical and practical skills.

Director of CBSE’s Academics, Joseph Emanuel, emphasized that these modifications are in line with the National Education Policy, 2020, which places a strong emphasis on competency-based education. The redesigned structure gives competency-based questions more weight; they now account for 50% of the final score, up from 40% in the prior version. Having an emphasis on critical thinking and creativity, these changes seek to evaluate students’ talents beyond rote memorization—both critical thinking and creativity are essential for overcoming 21st-century obstacles. The percentage of long-answer and short-answer questions has decreased from 40% to 30%, demonstrating CBSE’s dedication to fostering in pupils higher-order thinking abilities.

Revised Exam Format of Class 11th and 12th for Session 2024-2025:

Different question types that emphasize abilities including comprehension, problem-solving, and practical thinking are included in the modified exam format. There are case-based, multiple-choice, and source-based questions in this set. They are intended to assess not only your knowledge but also your ability to apply that knowledge in practical settings. Exams are now more engaging and helpful, which is appreciated by parents, instructors, and students. CBSE assists students in preparing for issues they may face in the real world by asking questions of this nature.
