CBSE Releases Guidelines to Conduct Class 10th and 12th Practical Examinations/Projects/Internal Assessments 2026
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently issued a circular dated November 17, 2025, regarding the Practical Examinations/Project/Internal Assessment 2026 for Class 10th and 12th.
According to the circular, the CBSE Class 10th and 12th Practical Examinations/Projects/Internal Assessment 2026 are scheduled to commence on January 01, 2026, and will conclude on February 14, 2026.
In recent years, it has been noticed by the board that several times schools make mistakes while uploading marks for Practical/Project/Internal Assessment. To curb this issue and smooth the conduct of Practical/Project/Internal Assessment and Theory Examinations, CBSE has released a list of subjects for Classes 10th and 12th.
The list contains details like Class, Subject Code, Subject Name, Maximum Marks Theory Examination, Maximum Marks Practical Examination, Maximum Marks Project Assessment, Maximum Marks Internal Assessment (IA), and Whether External Examiner will be appointed for practical/project assessment. Whether Practical Answer-book will be provided by the Board, Type of Answer Book that will be used in Theory Examinations, etc.
Each subject has been allotted a maximum of 100 marks. These marks are divided into theory, practical, project, and internal assessment (IA) parts as shown in the annexure (Below).
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is anticipating from all affiliated schools to ensure that this time the issue will not be repeated and all schools will complete their Practical Exam/Project/IA correctly within set deadlines to avoid any further problems for students at a later stage.
Below is the official PDF for both Circular and two Annexures
