Central Government Notifies Amendment of Life Insurance Corporation General Rules 1956 The Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance recently issued a notification (F. No. I-13011/03/2021-Ins.I) on January 27, 2026, regarding amendment of Life Insurance Corporation General Rules, 1956. The Central Government, using its powers given by section 48 of the Life Insurance Corporation Act, 1956 (31), makes the following rules to amend the Life Insurance Corporation General Rules, 1956.
Central Government Announces New Changes to Patent Rules for 2025
1. These rules will be known as the Life Insurance Corporation General (Amendment) Rules, 2026. 2. In the Life Insurance Corporation General Rules, 1956, in rule 5, in sub-rule (1), in clause (i):
  • "reappointment for one further term of up to four year" will be replaced for the words "one further term of four years"
  • In proviso, the words "one further term of up to four years" will be replaced for the words "one further term of four years".
Note: These rules will come into force on the date of their publication in the official gazette.
