The government has appointed a new Whole-Time Member in SEBI for three years, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Centre Appoints Whole-Time Member, SEBI for a Three-Year Tenure Period
The Financial Market Division (FMD) under the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) has issued a notification dated March 24, 2026, announcing an appointment to the role of Whole-Time Member, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
According to the notification, the Central Government has appointed Shri Kompella Venkata Ramana Murty to the position of Whole-Time Member under SEBI. He has been appointed for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts in the Ministry of Defence.
This appointment has been made under the powers granted by sub-section (1)(d) and sub-section (4) of Section 4 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), read with Rule 3 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members) Rules, 1992.
