Centre authorizes Maharashtra to access specified income tax information for farmer loan waiver eligibility verification.
Maharashtra Gets Tax Data Access

On 10 July 2026, the Central Government issued a notification under Section 258(1)(b) of the Income-tax Act, 2025.
The government has authorized the Principal Secretary of the Cooperation, Marketing and Textile Department, Government of Maharashtra, to receive certain income tax information.
This information will be used only to identify farmers who are eligible for the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme, 2026.
