Centre Waives Customs Duty on Wireless Charging Module Components for Mobile Phones:

Customs duty has been reduced to nil on key components for wireless charging modules to promote domestic mobile phone manufacturing.
Customs Relief for Wireless Charging Parts

The Central Government has exempted customs duty on several key components used to manufacture inductor coil modules for wireless charging in cellular mobile phones. The decision was notified by the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) through Notification No. 26/2026-Customs, issued on July 8, 2026.
According to the notification, components including Nano-Crystalline (NC) Assembly, E-Shield, PET Liner, PC Shim (with Z-Liner), Main Stranded Coil and NFC Coil and NdFeB Magnets will attract nil customs duty on import for use in the manufacture of wireless charging modules for mobile phones.
The customs duty exemption has been introduced in the public interest and will be valid till March 31, 2029. The move is expected to reduce costs for smartphone makers and help boost domestic production of advanced cellphone components under the government’s push for electronics manufacturing.
