Chartered Accountants To Hold Protest Against CA Amendment Bill And IIA at Jantar Mantar

Lok Sabha in Parliament passes the Chartered Accountant, Cost and Work Accountant and Company Secretaries Amendment Bill 2021 on March 30, 2022.  Explaining the Chartered Accountants, Cost and Works Accountants and Company Secretaries (Amendment) Bill, Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the amendments will not infringe upon the autonomy of the three institutes. Finance Minister Further said that changes will make the institutes more responsible and accountable and align them with global best practices. she said while replying to a discussion on the bill.

As per the Picture Circulating on the Social Media Chartered Accountants to hold peaceful Protest against CA Amendment Bill & IIA.

CA’s Request from the honorable Central Government of India are given below:

To issue clarificatory notification for better clarity that IIA is not part of CA Amendment Bill and not Govt is having any intention of doing this in future as well.

To Scrap the changes proposed in Disciplinary Mechanism related to composition of Disciplinary Committee & Board of Discipline as proposed in ”The Chartered Accountants, The Cost & Works Accountants and The Company Secretaries (Amendment) Bill, 2021″

Do not compromise with the Autonomy of ICAI and respect the intention of the Constitution Makers

Do not remove audit requirements in the name of ease of doing business in India (as per recent “Consultation Paper on Statutory Audit and Auditing Standards for Micro, Small and Medium Companies (MSMCs)” by NFRA)

There should not be any reservations system on any basis. This is a noble profession that requires rigorous study and training along with the highest level of integrity, independence & excellence.

Protect Independency / quality of Judgements.

Do not compromise with the Institute’s Education & Examination System.

To safeguard the interest of Public money and bring PSU’s, Political Parties, NGO’s and all software and procedures where public money is involved in the audit scope of CA’s. Public Money needs 100% audit whether in banks or elsewhere to fix a cap on frauds happening in India

Not to consider CAs being guilty on basis of media reports or half baked information only.
