Court Fee Payment Status Still Pending? GSTAT Says Appeals Can Be Filed Anyway
The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has issued an advisory for taxpayers facing issues with online court fee payment status on the GSTAT portal.
According to the advisory, if a court fee payment has been made but the status is not showing as "Success", taxpayers should wait for up to 72 hours, as payment updates may be delayed due to processing issues.
GSTAT clarified that even if the payment status remains unchanged after 72 hours, taxpayers will still be able to file their appeals on the portal without any restriction.
The tribunal further stated that such cases will be reconciled at the backend, and the appeal filing process will not be affected. Taxpayers have been advised to take note of these instructions and continue with the appeal filing process as required.
