DDMA Decides to Lift Weekend curfew; odd-even system for shops ends, Restaurants Allowed to Open The weekend ban in Delhi has been removed after the apex COVID-19 management authority, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), convened on Thursday to assess the city's pandemic status. The night ban will remain in effect until additional orders. At the next DDMA meeting, the school opening agenda will be discussed. The pubs and eateries have been told to operate at half-capacity. The DDMA has also decided to raise the limit on how many individuals can attend wedding festivals in the national capital to 200. In Todays Meeting DDMA decided that weddings will be permitted in Delhi with a maximum attendance of 200 people or 50 per cent capacity of the venue. As of today, only 20 people were allowed to attend such events at home. The DDMA meeting was led by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and CM Arvind Kejriwal. Last Monday, the Delhi government announced that outside the Containment Zones, all private offices in the National Capital Territory of Delhi might operate with up to 50% attendance. Further, bars, restaurants and cinema halls can now operate in Delhi at 50 per cent capacity. Government offices can operate with 50 per cent capacity. The DDMA, on the other hand, had encouraged private offices to stagger office hours, presence, and staffing levels. To combat the COVID-19 rise, the DDMA decided to implement a curfew in Delhi on Saturdays and Sundays earlier this month. Meanwhile, the Delhi government reported 7,498 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the state government. According to the Health Department's report, the day's positive rate is now at 10.59 percent. In the last 24 hours, a total of 70,804 samples were tested. 11,164 individuals have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of recoveries in the national capital to 17,46,972. During the last 24 hours, 29 people have died as a result of the deadly illness. The disease has claimed the lives of 25,710 people in Delhi. There are now 38,315 ongoing COVID-19 cases in Delhi, with a fatality rate of 1.42 percent.
