Deadline for Revocation of Business GST Registration Cancellation till June 30
Businesses can rescind their cancellation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration by paying back taxes, interest, and fines. The government set a June 30, 2023 deadline to complete the revocation procedure.
GST is an Indian tax on the delivery of goods and services. Anyone who sells goods or services in India and has a yearly revenue that surpasses a certain threshold must register for GST, which can be done through the portal.
According to the finance ministry’s announcement, there will be no further opportunities for reversal. Furthermore, companies that had their GST registrations cancelled prior to December 20, 2022 and have not yet sought revocation of their cancellation may do so until June 20, 2023 by paying a late fee of Rs.1,000 in form GSTR-10.
GSTR-10 must be filed by a registered individual whose GST registration has been cancelled or surrendered. The Final Return must be submitted within three months of the cancellation date or the date of the cancellation order, whichever comes first.
