Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Introduces Lottery-Based GST Posting System
In a move aimed at increasing transparency and fairness, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta has introduced a lottery-based system for postings in the GST Department.
Ending the earlier practice of recommendation-based transfers, the new system ensures that officers are assigned their wards through a self-draw lots. A total of 87 GST officers received their postings by personally drawing lots during a public event held at the department’s conference hall.
The process was conducted in the presence of senior officials, including the Commissioner, Special Commissioner, Joint Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner, reinforcing the government’s commitment to an open and impartial system.
She said, "The aim is to ensure that every appointment, posting and administrative decision is rule-based, transparent and impartial, encouraging honest officers and reinforcing public trust in governance."
She further stated that the Delhi government is planning to introduce similar transparent and technology-driven systems in other departments to enhance good governance in the future.
