GST Department Raids Iron Trader's Premises in Sambhal Over Billing Irregularities
The GST department carried out a raid on the business premises of a well-known iron trader in Bahjoi town of Sambhal. The trader, Rohitash, had his warehouse, shop, and house searched by a team of 15 officers who came from Moradabad. The raid started at around 2 pm on Monday.
During the operation, the officers took important documents such as the stock register and sales register for checking. They have started a detailed investigation to look into the trader’s records. Police officers were also present at the locations to ensure security and maintain order while the raid was going on.
Reports say that the GST department received complaints about possible irregularities in the bills issued by some iron traders to retailers. After these complaints, the department decided to take action and conduct the raid.
The incident has caused concern and panic among other traders in the area. The GST team has been carefully examining documents at different places for more than three hours.
