DEN Network Limited Gets Relief as Appellate Authority Quashes Rs. 33.26 Crore GST Demand DEN Network Limited has recently disclosed to BSE Limited and National Stock Exchange of India Limited about the receipt of an order from the Joint Commissioner (ADJN) of Central Tax and Central Excise, CGST Kochi Commissionerate for recovery of a differential tax amount of Rs. 33,25,97,247 along with interest and penalty on the company. The order was passed under the provisions of the Central Goods and Service Tax Act, 2017, and the Kerala State Goods and Service Tax Act, 2017, for the period from July 2017 to March 2022.

The impugned order said that the company is required to pay tax on the total amount charged by the local cable operator (LCO) from the subscribers, not just on the amount that the company charged from the LCO. On August 21, 2025, the Joint Commissioner (ADJN) of Central Tax and Central Excise, CGST Kochi Commissionerate accepted the Company’s arguments and has set aside in toto the impugned order. As a result, the demand for Goods and Services Tax (GST), interest, and penalty against the company has been quashed.
