Selected candidates will be posted in Chennai City Region, Central Region, MMS, Chennai, Southern Region and Western Region.

As per the Department of Post Recruitment 2023 notification, there are 58 vacancies for the post of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade).
Candidates should have Possession of a valid driving license for light & heavy motor vehicles, Knowledge of Motor Mechanisms. The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the vehicle. Candidates should have experience driving light & heavy motor vehicles for at least three years. Candidates should have passed in 10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institute. Candidates having three years’ service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteers will be given preference.
Candidates applying for the above-mentioned job post should have crossed the age of 18 years and the maximum age limit for this job post is 27 years.
Selected candidates for the post of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) will get a monthly salary on a pay scale level 2 (Rs. 19900-63200).
Candidates will be selected through an examination.

(vi) Experience certificate issued by Gazetted officer of a Central/State Government office where the applicant has been working or by the Head of a Registered Firm / Company / Agency/Institution should be enclosed. The certificate should contain the full address, Door No., Pincode and name of the person issuing with designation along with the date of issue of the certificate. The period of experience mentioned in the experience certificate should be within the period of validity of the Driving Licence. The period of experience in Light and Heavy Vehicles should be clearly indicated like ‘Light vehicle Experience from (date)………… to………….. (date)’ and ‘Heavy vehicle experience from_ (date)…………. to ………… (date)’.
