DGGI arrested a Women for GST Fraud of Rs.325 Crore The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI), Bengaluru zonal unit, arrested a 49 year old women namely, Ritu Minocha of Andheri on Monday for allegedly being a main accused in a Rs.325 crore GST fraud case. It involves establishing shell firms and claiming fake input tax credits without actually supplying goods or services, resulting in a loss of Rs.340 crore to the government exchequer. Minocha is accused of being a prominent player in a network of dubious enterprises that includes Gir Nature View Resorts and Aventez Media and Technologies. Despite her claim that she was unaware of the actions, investigators believe she utilised her position as a director in these companies to issue fake invoices. She was sent to Bengaluru on transit remand. Her lawyer, Sujay Kantawala, contended that officers remained in her home for hours under the guise of a search, which is illegal. She was placed in police custody for two days.
