Different Versions of ChatGPT: Since its inception, ChatGPT has undergone several changes and has consistently updated its feature. ChatGPT is a large language model chatbot developed by OpenAI. It is based on OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 foundational GPT language model and is available in free and paid versions. The free version of ChatGPT is limited to 100 prompts per day, while the paid version offers unlimited prompts.

ChatGPT is built on the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture, and the acronym highlights the important features of this AI model:

Generative: GPT models can generate new material based on the patterns and context learned from training data. They are capable of producing human-like text that is contextually relevant and coherent.

Pre-trained: The models have been pre-trained on massive volumes of text data from many sources, allowing them to learn a wide variety of language patterns, syntax, facts, and context. This pre-training process lays the groundwork for them to produce high-quality material.

Transformer: GPT models are based on the Transformer architecture, which is a neural network model suited for natural language processing applications. To do this, the Transformer design makes use of self-attention mechanisms and parallel processing.

Now OpenAI has launched the paid version of ChatGPT, called ChatGPT Plus. The ChatGPT Plus user has access to ChatGPT version 4. Different versions of ChatGPT are listed below:

Legacy ChatGPT 3.5

Legacy Chat ChatGPT 3.5 is the initial ChatGPT version. It is built on the GPT-3.5 language model, which underwent training on a vast text and code dataset. Legacy ChatGPT 3.5 is a strong chatbot that can generate text, translate languages, write many types of creative material, and provide informed answers to different types of queries. It can, however, be slow at times, especially when producing big amounts of text.

Default ChatGPT 3.5

This is a more recent version of ChatGPT. It is likewise based on the GPT-3.5 language model, but it has been speeded up. The default ChatGPT 3.5 is still quite accurate, although it is not as precise as the Legacy ChatGPT 3.5.

ChatGPT 4:

ChatGPT 4 is the most recent version. It is based on the GPT-4 language model, the most advanced language model ever developed. ChatGPT 4 is faster and more accurate than both Legacy ChatGPT 3.5 and Default ChatGPT 3.5. ChatGPT 4 can perform everything that earlier ChatGPT versions could do, but it can do it faster and more precisely. It is currently available for paid users.

The evolution of ChatGPT from its initial version to the recent iterations demonstrates the ongoing efforts to develop more powerful and reliable conversational AI. With each iteration, OpenAI has addressed limitations, enhanced user experience, and introduced novel features.
