Director of Private Company held by CBI for Rs.10L Bribery The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has detained four people in connection with an alleged Rs.10 lakh bribery, including two Dy. Chief Controllers of Explosive, PESO, a Director of a private company situated in Chittorgarh (Rajasthan), and a tout. A case was filed against a tout/middleman, a bribe giver, and unidentified Petroleum and Explosive Safety Organisation (PESO) officers in Nagpur. It was said that the tout conspired with PESO officials/ officers to obtain the task of the bribe donor (Director of a private company situated in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan), which was done in exchange for a large unlawful payment. It was further alleged that the said Director of a private company would pay a bribe of Rs.10 lakh to the officials of the PESO through a tout at Nagpur. CBI set a trap and arrested the bribe giver and tout while they were exchanging the bribe. Two Dy. Chief Controllers of explosives were identified and arrested. During the search of the tout's home in Nagpur, cash worth Rs.1.19 crore (approx.), gold metal biscuit, silver metal dye, and incriminating documents were found. During searches at the premises of a Dy. Chief Controller of Explosives, cash and incriminating documents totalling Rs.88 lakh (approx.) were discovered. Incriminating documents were also found at the offices of other Dy. Chief Controllers of Explosives. All of the arrested suspects were brought before the Court of Special Judges of CBI Cases in Nagpur (Maharashtra) and remanded in police custody until January 6, 2024.
