Why Income Tax Return and Tax Audit Due date should be Extended

Why Income Tax Return and Tax Audit Due date should be Extended

With the income tax filing deadlines rapidly approaching, everyone is gearing up for the forthcoming filing season. ITR Filing Deadline is 31st December 2021. Till yesterday as per Income Tax Department Over 4 crore, Income Tax Returns filed and we are left with only 7 Days to File more than 3 crore ITR’s. There are still a lot of Glitches on Income Tax Portal which has been mentioned below and that’s the reason that ITR Filing Deadline should be extended.

However, there are a few technical and portal issues that are encountered when conducting e-filing work and chores.

The following are a few of the issues that require immediate attention or an extension of the return filing deadlines:

1. Issues with Forms 3CA, 3CB, and 3CD when filing the Tax Audit Report

2. Error in accepting filed 3CA, 3CB, and 3CD from the assessee’s login

3. Attachments uploaded using Forms 3CA, 3CB, and 3CD are not visible also Option to Revise 3CB-3CD is not yet available

4. For PAN registration, OTPs are not sent to the registered mobile number and e-mail address at the same time and because of that it is taking a lot of time to validate.

5. An error occurred during the download of Form No. 26AS and AIS/TIS

6. Issues is being faced by many persons with sending OTPs for various types of validation

7. Issue is being faced while submitting information and attaching files on Income Tax Potal

8. An issue with registering the DSC and there is issue coming even if We are trying to reset the password with the Help of the DSC. If Trying to reset the Password with DSC PAN in DSC is not matching with Income Tax Data.

9. Issues with filing and obtaining an OTP when uploading Form No. 10IE. Errors in filing Form 10IE.

10. Lot of Difficulties coming in registering the legal heir

11. An error occurred when obtaining data from previous years.

12. ITR is Filed but in many cases there is Issues in downloading a copy of the ITR after it has been filed.

13. Issues with access to e-services and other features.

14. An issue arose during the filing of the returns.

15. Issues with receiving the intimation u/s 143(1)(a)Intimation.

16. Issues with submitting a rectification application under section 154 (screenshot attached).

17. Error while submitting Form 29B for upload.

18. Not able to change date of commencement in ITR-5 , Always give validation error after change of date

19. Error when filing the Audit Report in Form 10B

20. Lot of Due Dates is falling on 31st December. ROC Annual Filing Due date is Due on 31st Dec 2021, GSTR 9 and GSTR9C Due date is 31st December, ITR Filing Due date for non Audit case is 31st December. Hence there is lot of burden on tax professionals as many due dates are falling on 31st December 2021

21. The newly implemented AIS/TIS, which was only a month ago has increased the Lot Burden of the Tax Professionals. Assessee needs more time in gathering more information and doing more reconciliation. Similarly, Tax professionals need more time to Validate information in order to ensure a smooth and error-free Return filing procedure.  This necessitates more time investment on the part of the assessees and tax professionals, slowing down the procedure.

22. There is lot of mismatch in newly implemented AIS/TIS, data. Many instances it has been found that AIS/TIS Data is not matching.

OTPs are still not available at the right time and are received after their expiry and sometimes, in the late hours; increasing the work pendencies.

Almost daily ITR schema are released IN MONTH OF FILING, software companies take further time for update. When Govt. site itself is not ready, why Punish Tax Payers with Late Fees

It is requested and prayed that the timelines be extended for Income Tax, ROC, and GST Annual returns due to the issues listed above, so that income tax returns are filed with all required tax compliances and reconciliations, and that income tax returns are processed without errors, saving taxpayers, professionals, and the administration time.
