Eagle Marketing Owner Devang Harish Nathwani arrested for GST Evasion of Rs.8.7 crore The State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) department has arrested Devang Nathwani from Rajkot for alleged scam of Rs.48.75 crore including GST Evasion of Rs.8.7 crore. As per the reports, in raid conducted at Eagle Marketing’s business premises in Rajkot and a godown at Aslali in Ahmedabad, fraud transaction of Rs.48.75 crore have been detected and Tax evasion of Rs.8.77 crore has been caught. Devang Harish Nathwani, the owner of Eagle Marketing, was arrested and produced before the court and later remanded into custody till Aug 14th. Nathwani is the main person in charge of the affairs of Eagle Marketing, which trades crude chemicals and is subject to 18% GST. The corporation committed the fraud by generating Fake bills without supplying goods or providing any form of service and by fraudulently claiming input tax credit and transferring it on to other individuals and parties worth crores.
