Former National Archives Official Jailed for Bribery

On October 28, 2026, the CBI Court at Ahmedabad convicted Satdhari Lal Sahu, then Archivist at National Archives of India Record Center, Jalana Dungari, Jaipur, Rajasthan and sentenced him to three years rigorous imprisonment. In a bribery case, the court also imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 on him.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered the case on December 26, 2012 on the basis of an allegation that Sahu had demanded Rs. 15,000 as bribe from a complainant. After completing the investigation, the CBI filed a chargesheet against Sahu on June 28, 2013. Following the trial, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to three years of rigorous imprisonment, along with a fine of Rs. 20,000.
