Genuine GST Registrations should not be afraid of Fake GST Drive: Read Clarification

The Rajasthan Commercial Taxes issues clarification for All India Special Drive against bogus GST registration. Genuine taxpayers need not worry about it.

Due to the practice of bogus input tax credit, the government has to face revenue loss and honest taxpayers have to face problems. To solve this problem, a special campaign of two months from May 16, 2023 to July 15, 2023 is being run by the State Tax and Central Tax Department against fake registration. In this regard, a meeting was organized with tax consultants and CA associations on 17.05.2023 at Divisional Kar Bhawan Jhalana, Jaipur.

In which Additional Commissioners (Administration) Anjani Kumar Sharma, Rakesh Rajoria, Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary, and Babu Singh of the four divisions of the Commercial Taxes Department Jaipur provided detailed information about the campaign to tax consultants and representatives of CA Associations.

Mr. Babusingh, Additional Commissioner (Administration)-I, Jaipur, stated during the meeting that information about the verification of all traders’ business locations is being sent in some social media messages, which is completely false and does not reflect the true intention of the campaign.

A clear procedure has also been prescribed to identify persons who have obtained registration for the purpose of tax evasion on the basis of bogus documents, in which, on the basis of data analysis, such incorporated wrong registrations will be identified through GSTN\BIU\BIFA and other means.

The campaign’s goal is to double-check the registration of the merchants found through this method. During the campaign, no taxpayers will be known or validated. This initiative will cause no problems for legitimate company owners.
