GHCL Limited gets Notice for excess Claim of ITC from GST Department

The Gujarat Heavy Chemicals Limited (GHCL) received a scrutiny notice from the GST Department of Maharashtra for the financial year 2020-21 on September 16.

The GST department accused the company of making an excessive claim of ITC (Input Tax Credit) of Rs. 17.34 lacs and advised it to respond within 15 days of receiving the letter.

GHCL Limited shall provide a suitable response to the department within the time frame specified.

GHCL was incorporated in 1983 and is the largest manufacturer of Soda ash at a single location in the Country. The Soda Ash that the company produce is used to make glass and detergents apart from other industrial applications and is an important raw material for solar glass and lithium ion batteries as well.
