GST Department detected Tax Evasion of Rs.2.5 Crore by Traders of Flowers and Decorative Items The State GST department of Gujarat discovered tax evasion of nearly Rs 2.5 crore by traders dealing in artificial flowers and decorative items during search operation on December 5, according to a statement. Searches were carried out on 11 such businessmen in Ahmedabad, where "irregularities such as unaccounted sales and unaccounted stock were discovered, resulting in a total tax evasion of approximately Rs. 2.50 crore and a total liability of approximately Rs. 3.50 crore," according to the statement. Currenlty, Artificial flowers taxed at 18% GST rate. In another case, GST officials discovered cases of ITC evasion totaling Rs 35,132 crore by 17,818 fake companies between April and October and arrested 69 people. It was informed to Parliament that a total of 18,876 ITC fraud cases were detected involving 17,818 fake firms with suspected ITC evasion of Rs 35,132 crore during financial 2024-25 (April-October).
