Rekha Gupta Govt Clears Rs. 694 Crore in GST Refunds Chief Minister Rekha Gupta government has released Rs. 694 crore out of Rs. 1,600 crore in pending GST refunds just before Diwali. Traders and small business owners in Delhi have started receiving the money in their bank accounts. Rekha Gupta said that the refund process has become much faster in recent months with a record Rs. 227 crore refunded in September, the highest ever for the city. She stated that the government is concentrating on facilitating business operations in Delhi.

Officials said that traders are now getting refunds on time, helping them manage their finances better during the festive season. The Chief Minister added that every trader, big or small, will get their GST refund within the promised time. She praised the Trade and Taxes Department for clearing 7,375 refund applications and directly transferring Rs. 694 crore to traders. She also highlighted the use of modern technology developed with IIT Hyderabad, which uses data analytics and automation to speed up verification and payments. Rekha Gupta criticized the previous government for not handling the GST refund backlog properly, which had caused long delays. "Our effort is to ensure that by Diwali, substantial refund amounts reach the business community, strengthening their faith in the government and making their festive celebrations even more joyous."

Lastly, she added that the Delhi Government is inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is working sincerely to promote policies that ensure ease of doing business through steps like the preparation of redevelopment ideas for major markets in the city and the formation of the Delhi Vyapari Kalyan Board to address the issues faced by the trading community.
