Government Appoints Officers for Enforcement of Social Security Code Provisions (Chapters V & VI)
The Ministry of Labour and Employment has recently issued a notification on 12th May, 2026, on appointment and designation of Central Government officers for enforcing provisions under Chapters V and VI of the Code on Social Security, 2020.
The Central Government, using its powers under the Code on Social Security, 2020, has appointed certain officers who will be responsible for implementing and enforcing specific provisions of the law under Chapter V and Chapter VI.
These officers will have jurisdiction over all establishments where the Central Government is considered the appropriate authority under the Code.
The appointed officers include:
- The Chief Labour Commissioner (Central)
- The Additional Chief Labour Commissioner (Central)
- The Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), and Labour Enforcement Officer (Central) in the office of Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Headquarters.
- Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central) and Labour Enforcement Officer (Central) in all regions.
