Government Contractor Fined 77 Lakh for GST Mismatch
A Government contractor fined Rs. 77 Lakh after Department find Discripency in GST Returns filed by the trader and Return filed by the Government.
After the commercial taxes department discovered differences in the GST returns filed by the dealer and the government, a government contractor was penalized Rs. 77,37,499. The GSTR-3B form was completed by a government contractor in the Theni 2 division of the Madurai zone of the commercial taxation department, but the sales figures on his form did not match the sales figured on the GSTR-07 form filed by the government offices that employing the contractor.
An audit of all government contractors’ GSTR-3B and GSTR-07 forms is underway, following directions from the commissioner and joint commissioner of commercial taxes.
