Government Launches Shram Suvidha Portal to Simplify Labour Law Compliance
The Ministry of Labour and Employment has now officially launched the Shram Suvidha Portal through a notification issued on May 15, 2026.
The Shram Suvidha Portal is a single online platform for labour law compliance. It acts as one common platform for employers and enforcement agencies, helping improve the ease of doing business and simplifying labour-related procedures.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, in consultation with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), has permitted the Ministry of Labour and Employment to use Aadhaar authentication for the purposes mentioned in the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Rules, 2020.
As per the permission, the ministry can use Aadhaar numbers to authenticate the identity of the Aadhaar holders through the methods under the Aadhaar Act, 2016.
According to the notification, the Aadhaar authentication will be used to verify user details on different modules of the Shram Suvidha Portal. This authentication will be completely voluntary. The Ministry will only use Aadhaar authentication through Yes/No verification and e-KYC facilities.
