Recently, a notification was issued on May 12, 2026, by the Ministry of Labour and Employment regarding the appointment of officers for the compounding of the offences under the Code on Wages, 2019.

The Central Government, using the powers given under Section 56(1) of the Code on Wages, 2019, has appointed certain labour officers to compound offences that are punishable with imprisonment or with imprisonment along with a fine.

The officers who have been given this power and the areas under their control are listed below:
