GST Evaders will not spared: FAKE GST Registration Drive Starts

The government’s “ultimatum” for the GST evaders is going to crack down on tax evaders through fake GST bills and fake GST registrations. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has launched an investigation campaign for two months from Tuesday, May 16. In fact, tax evaders keep coming up with new tricks and due to this the tax authorities have to upgrade continuously

In this, after many cases of fake GST registration and fake Input Tax Credit have come to the fore, now there is a preparation to curb them, under which this time the government has started this new special campaign. The Finance Ministry has given strict instructions to the GST department to stop GST evasion.

The investigative campaign for fake GST registration began on May 16 and will last two months. To catch GST evaders, GST department officials will visit shops and establishments and check documents.

Some people claim ITC via fake receipts and bogus registration on the GST site, and the benefit amount is credited to their account despite the lack of any genuine sale purchase. Simultaneously, severe action will be taken against questionable GST accounts and entities generating counterfeit banknotes.
